Santa doesn't wrap presents

We were very close to the Taylor family when growing up in Westfield, NJ.  Joyce and Bill Taylor had a seven kids, and our families were incredibly close.  Sheila and Joyce went to real estate school together and ended up working together for over 20 years.  As families, we did all kinds of things together.  Their daughter, MaryBeth, recalls some great nuggets from those days.

Hi Ernie,

Here are some of my favorite memories.

She always made us "smashed cheese" sandwiches as well as "cheese with a bubble"

Loved our time in Vermont with her. She was the cool Mom who bought us pea shooters.

We also loved the underage driving lessons she gave everyone.

One of my most favorite things about her was the way she asked if anyone had to use the restroom "does anyone need to make a jobbie??  Lol!

We always loved hearing about the Parizeau Christmas morning pots and pan parades (and that Santa didn't wrap presents)

Sheila and Joyce packed all of us into the station wagon in Vermont and we went to see out first drive in movie - The Bad News Bears

I also remember putting the tennis racket covers on our heads. We would go out on the porch and swing our rackets at bats because we wanted to play ping pong on the porch

She would help Sally and I ice skate on the walkway "pond" that Mr. Parizeau would make every winter by the back walkway.

My mom obviously has a ton of hilarious memories (that I know she will share directly with you), but here are a few I know:

They loved their time in the Macy's day parade. My mom always said it was a highlight of her life and that much more special because she was with Sheila.

They always had a race going from church to get to the diner   They each went a different way to see who could get there first.

They once went for a beer (which Sheila never drank) and Joyce sat down at a table and Sheila said,

"why did you have to sit down next to the guy with no teeth"
